Cách 2:
Gọi:
Số kẹo Anna đã ăn là a
Số kẹo Mary đã ăn là b
Số kẹo Peter đã ăn là c
Theo bài ra ta có:
a + b + c = 22 (1)
a = 2 x b (2)
b < c < a (3)
Thay (2) vào (1) ta được:
2 x b + b + c = 22
3 x b = 22 - c
3 x b = 21 + (1 - c) (4)
Vì 21 chia hết cho 3. Suy ra: (1 - c) chia hết cho 3
Vì (1 - c) chia hết cho 3, suy ra: c có thể nhận các giá trị là: 1, 4, 7, 10
Nếu c = 1 thì 3 x b = 21 + (1 - c) = 21. Suy ra: b = 7 (loại vì b > c)
Nếu c = 4 thì 3 x b = 21 + (1 - c) = 18. Suy ra: b = 6 (loại vì b > c)
Nếu c = 7 thì 3 x b = 21 + (1 - c) = 15. Suy ra: b = 5 (nhận)
Nếu c = 10 thì 3 x b = 21 + (1 - c) = 12. Suy ra: b = 4 và a = 2 x b = 2 x 4 = 8 (loại vì a < c)

- Vì câu này hơi lắt léo, mình xin phép được tạm dịch như sau: “Trong 1 bữa tiệc có 14 người chia thành 7 cặp. Mỗi người nam đều bắt tay với mọi người trừ vợ anh ta. Không có hai người nữ nào bắt tay với nhau. Hỏi tổng số cái bắt tay của 14 người đó là bao nhiêu?”
Để giải được bài này, trước hết các bé cần nắm được công thức tính cái bắt tay. Nếu có n người thì số cái bắt tay là: n(n - 1) : 2
Sau đây là lời giải của bài này:
Nếu cả 14 người đều bắt tay nhau thì số cái bắt tay là: 14(14 -1) : 2 = 91 (cái)
Vì có 7 người nam không bắt tay với vợ mình. Nên số cái bắt tay cần phải trừ đi là: 7 (cái)
Vì không có 2 người nữ nào bắt tay với nhau. Nên số cái bắt tay cần phải trừ đi tiếp là: 7(7 -1) : 2 = 21 (cái)
Tổng số cái bắt tay là: 91 - 7 - 21 = 63 (cái)

- Trung bình cộng của 27 và 69 là: (27 + 69) : 2 = 48

- Giải:
- “The number of fractions m/n such that m + n = 2016 is…” tạm dịch: "Số các phân số m/n thỏa mãn điều kiện: m + n = 2016"
Vì n phải khác 0 cho nên m sẽ có các giá trị từ 0 đến 2015. Suy ra: Số số hạng của m là: (2015 - 0) : 1 + 1 = 2016 (số số hạng). Tương ứng với m thì n sẽ nhận các giá trị từ 2016 giảm xuống đến 1. Như vậy ta có 2016 phân số m/n thỏa mãn điều kiện đề bài.

Giải thích thêm: Mấu chốt của bài này là mỗi chữ số chỉ được phép dùng một lần. Cho nên mặc dù có thể tạo được những số có tích lớn hơn và nhỏ hơn hai tích ở trên nhưng đều bị loại vì không thỏa mãn đề bài là mỗi chử số chỉ được dùng 1 lần duy nhất.
